Zama Raises $57M in Series B to Bring End-to-End Encryption to Public Blockchains
Zama, an open-source cryptography firm specializing in Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), has secured $57 million in a Series B funding round co-led by Blockchange Ventures and Pantera Capital. The investment propels Zama's valuation beyond $1 billion, marking it as the first FHE unicorn. The funding will accelerate the launch of its mainnet, ecosystem adoption, and research to scale FHE-based financial applications.
The company simultaneously unveiled the Zama Protocol, enabling confidential applications on any blockchain. Developers can begin building FHE solutions on Zama’s public testnet starting July 2025. The timing underscores growing demand for privacy-focused, compliant onchain finance tools.
